The new models were revealed at Baselworld, the world's largest watch industry fair held in Basel, Switzerland.
Chanel – Monsieur de Chanel
In a surprise, the French fashion house just announced their first ever watch for men, appropriately called "The Monsieur". It's the first Chanel watch to be entirely Swiss-made. It will be crafted at the company's factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The watch also houses the company's first in-house movement —made and developed entirely by Chanel — called the Calibre 1.The watch contains an atypical design, with two main complications: a jumping hour and a retrograde minute. The jumping hour is the box below the dials that displays the hour as a numeral, which many might mistake as the date. It changes suddenly when the hour changes.
Breguet – Classique Hora Mundi 5727
One of the world's oldest watchmakers Breguet has presented new luxurious timepieces. The beautiful Hora Mundi Calssique 5717 is the first mechanical watch ever, with an instant-jump time-zone display system. This watch combines this iconic complication with synchronized indications for date, day/night and city. That means that this travel watch enables the wearer to instantly switch the time for two pre-selected time zones, with a simple press of a button and without the slightest disturbance to the operation of this dashing timepiece.
Patek Philippe – World Time Chronograph Ref. 5930
Patek, the 5930 combines two of our favorite complications – the world-timer and the chronograph. To activate the world-timer, all you have to do is press the button at 10 o'clock to advance the time zone – which is indicated at 12 o'clock. While changing time zone, the entire hour hand is disengaged from the movement so neither the amplitude of the balance nor the steady progression of the minute hand are affected. The chronograph hand keeps running without impact as well.
Breitling – Avenger Hurricane
The superlative-charged Breitling Avenger Hurricane selfwinding chronograph flaunts a standout 50 mm diameter, an ultra-sturdy and ultra-light case in Breitlight®(a world premiere), as well as a technical look enhanced by aviation-inspired stencil-type numerals. It is equipped with a Manufacture Breitling Caliber B12 powering a military-type 24-hour display, or a Manufacture Breitling Caliber 01 driving a 12-hour display. The exclusive strap combines rubber and high-resistance Military textile fiber. A compendium of boldness, innovation and performance, designed to share every challenge.
TAG Heuer – Carrera Heuer-02T Black Phantom
Ahead of Baselworld 2016, TAG Heuer has released a preview of their new accessibly priced Carrera chronograph tourbillon collection, which starts at $15,000. Made from grade 5 titanium, the Heuer-02T case has a brushed finish with a black titanium bezel, and a steel crown over molded with rubber. There is also an all black variant, called the Black Phantom. The dial is skeletonized, with black bridges, and a carbon and titanium tourbillon cage at 6 o'clock. A dual register chronograph layout displays chrono hours at 9 o'clock and chrono minutes at 3 o'clock. Large baton-shaped hour and minute hands display the time along with polished and satin-finished baton indexes. Hands and indexes are treated with a luminous material.
Rado – True
Rado's latest lineup is getting a bold boost with the multicoloured True collection, which features timepieces in three high-tech ceramic colours: rich chocolate brown as well as brand new hues navy blue and dark green. The Rado True's classically round shape is now available in a fall-friendly trio of colours. The 40 mm monobloc high-tech ceramic case fastens to the wrist with a matching Nato strap, making this a lightweight, sporty timepiece that looks chic whether paired with a tennis racket or a suit jacket.
Samsung – Samsung Gear S2 by de Grisogono
Two iconic brands unite to create the most glamorous smartwatch. de GRISOGONO's vision and boldness meet Samsung's technological expertise. A high-tech object transformed into a glamorous accessory. Style marries function. Original, trendy, beautiful, innovative, elegant, surprising and precious: it symbolises the best of the two worlds it connects. When a smart jewellery watch tells the tale of luxury time.
Konstantin Chaykin – Russian Time. Krusenstern
The Konstantin Chaykin Russian Time. Krusenstern displays all of Russia's 11 time zones as well as a world time display on its reverse. This unique piece is highly unusual and illustrates why Konstantin Chaykin is one of the most interesting watchmaking talents in existence today. The front side of the watch is divided into 11 time zones existing in the Russian Federation. The module of world time is on the reverse side. The model is presented in a single copy.
